Attendance

How much does the camp cost?

LIFE Sports Camp is provided free of charge so that all young people can attend. However, since space is limited to 60 participants, parents are asked to commit their child for the entire week-long program. After the camp spaces are filled, a waiting list will be created.

Which ages can attend LIFE Sports Camp?

The program at LIFE Sports Camp is designed for children and teens aged 11 to 17. We will also consider including children who are turning 11 this year, and who are entering Grade 6 this coming September.

If your child is too young to attend this year, you can email us and ask us to notify you about the camp in a future year when your child is older. Please provide your name, your child’s name, and your child’s current grade to agiraldi@gmail.com.

Do campers need to attend all five days?

Yes, we ask that campers attend all five days, because space is limited and the camp often fills up to capacity. If your child can only attend for 3 or 4 days, please indicate that on the registration form and we will add your child to our waiting list. We will then contact you right before camp, or even the first day of camp, if we have room for your child.

Registration

When does registration open?

Registration opens in mid-May once we have received a school location. If you would like to be notified when registration opens (and you aren’t already on our contact list), please email us at agiraldi@gmail.com to indicate your interest in being notified when registration opens in May.

What happens when camp is full?

When camp is full, we will modify our register page to notify those who are interested. We will still allow a limited number of additional registrations to create a waiting list of people to contact in case there are cancellations.

If my child is on the waiting list, when will I know if there is space for him/her to attend the camp?

If space is available, we will contact you by phone or email a few days before the camp begins. We will also contact parents on the first day of camp if space is available.

Our Staff

Are the camp staff screened?

All of our staff volunteers are adults (18 and older) who have completed a vulnerable sector check with their local police service.

Who should I contact with questions?

The camp director, Andrew, at agiraldi@gmail.com.

About LIFE Sports Camp

Why is the camp called LIFE Sports Camp?

Our name refers to both the life that God has given us (which we enjoy when playing sports), and the eternal life that He wants to give us, so that we can know Him and live with Him forever in Heaven.

What is the history of LIFE Sports Camp?

The first LIFE Sports Camp took place in July 2013 at Applewood Heights Secondary School in Mississauga, when a group of volunteers came together to provide a free summer camp for about 50 young people. LIFE Sports Camp has continued to run every summer since 2013, with the exception of the COVID lockdown years in 2020 and 2021.

Why do we teach lessons from the Bible?

As Christians, we believe that the Bible is God’s Word, and that it contains a message of good news for everyone. The good news was summarized by Jesus Christ in these words:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

Our desire is to share this good news with others, and to help them to understand its importance.

I’ve signed [my son] up for all kinds of sports camps—paid or free—and he’s always been excited. But this week was something special! Every morning he was up and ready to go way before camp even opened. Whatever kind of atmosphere you’ve created there, it really made an impression—he came home every day full of energy and stories about all the fun things you did.
